The FRP chemical storage tank is an industrial-grade storage device manufactured with fiber-reinforced plastic as the core material through processes such as hand lay-up, filament winding, and spray-up. It is specially designed for storing various corrosive, flammable, explosive, and volatile chemical media.
Thanks to its excellent properties including superior corrosion resistance, lightweight design, and high customizability, it has emerged as the preferred alternative to traditional carbon steel, stainless steel, and concrete storage tanks in industries such as chemical engineering, petroleum, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, and wastewater treatment. It is particularly suitable for the long-term storage of media like acid-base-salt solutions, organic solvents, and chemical raw materials.

This is the core advantage of FRP chemical storage tanks. By selecting different resin types (such as epoxy resin, vinyl ester resin, and polyester resin), the tanks can be adapted to different corrosive media. They are resistant to various highly corrosive chemicals including hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, sodium hydroxide, and salt solutions. This addresses the pain points of traditional carbon steel tanks (prone to rust) and stainless steel tanks (incompatible with certain media), with a service life of 15–20 years.
The density of FRP is only about 1/4 that of carbon steel. For the same volume, FRP chemical storage tanks are much lighter than traditional metal and concrete tanks. No large hoisting equipment is required; they can be assembled on-site or transported as a whole, reducing installation difficulty and transportation costs. They are particularly suitable for scenarios such as narrow chemical workshops and underground storage tanks.
Volumes (from tens of liters to tens of thousands of cubic meters), shapes (vertical, horizontal, cylindrical, square), structures (flat bottom, conical bottom, head type), and supporting facilities (such as manholes, flanges, level gauge interfaces, and inlet/outlet ports) can be customized according to customer needs. Special requirements such as high temperature resistance, high pressure resistance, and underground installation can also be met, adapting to the storage needs of different chemical production processes.
With the addition of anti-UV additives, the tanks can be used outdoors in open air without aging or fading. Meanwhile, FRP is an excellent insulating material that does not generate static electricity, making it suitable for storing flammable and explosive chemical media and avoiding safety hazards caused by static electricity.
No daily anti-corrosion or rust-proof treatment is needed. Only regular inspections of interface tightness and tank appearance are required, resulting in simple and low-cost maintenance. Compared with the annual rust removal and painting maintenance of metal tanks, it significantly saves later operation and maintenance costs.
